Hunter X Hunter Episode 99 Review!

First off, I’m going to say that I’m not thrilled about Hunter X Hunter’s time slot being changed.  For those of you who follow this anime, you know that it used to be available Saturday nights in the US.  Well now it comes out Tuesday afternoons.  This wouldn’t be a huge deal, but it means that they’ve moved the show off of a really great time slot (Sunday morning in Japan), to a not so great time slot (Wednesday late night in Japan).  That means that viewership will probably decline, which in turns means that funds for the show will then go down.  And THAT means that the quality of the animation may decrease, or even worse, the show may be cancelled because it is losing viewers.  So, I guess we’ll have to wait and see, but it is nice to have a Tuesday anime again!

I’m going to hop right into the review.  I liked this episode a lot more than I liked last week’s.  Obviously the talky talky from last week led to a much more action filled episode this week.  We got to see Gon defeat an owl Chimera Ant and a bat Chimera Ant.  Meleoron is still tailing Gon.  Killua broke off and started to raise some Hell.  He’s got people fired up and the Ants have already sent someone out to stop him.  The Ants also imposed martial law and put out a curfew.  Very quick action, which makes you believe they were waiting for people to get fired up so that they could act quickly.  All in all, I have to say, this was a really good episode.  I’m still concerned that Killua may be in some grave danger, but he’s quick witted enough, he may be able to save himself.

If you have any questions, or opinions on this episode, let me know!  I would love to hear from you guys.  As always, have a great day!
